fred’s CARES ABOUT OUR COMMUNITIES
fred’s Super Dollar supports many local and national organizations. These relationships include partnerships with the Children's Miracle Network, LeBonheur Children's Hospital, American Cancer Society, United Way and numerous other charities. This involvement ensures that fred’s Super Dollar makes a positive impact on the lives of our customers and the communities we share with them.
American Cancer Society
Through support for the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides" events, fred’s team members have donated their time and financial support.
At fred’s we pay tribute to the people who have given so much to the African-American community and how their efforts have shaped our country. In addition, every week in February at fred’s we will be honoring and featuring our team members who work so hard to make a difference in their community.
Children’s Miracle Network
Through the annual fred’s Super Dollar Miracle Balloon Drive, customers can help raise money for local Children’s Miracle Network hospitals $1 at a time.
fred’s commemorates the fallen heroes of 9/11 through our annual Hero Hats campaign. On that day each year, all of fred’s proceeds go to local emergency response teams. Customers can purchase a paper Hero Hat at their local fred’s to donate to the cause as well, and help to show our appreciation for everything they do.
Through fred’s annual Panda Pals program, customers helped to raise more than $30,000 in 2012 for the Memphis Zoo, a wonderful community partner in our headquarters’ city.
In 2012, fred’s Super Dollar was awarded the MIFA Pathfinder Award, a recognition of more than five years of outstanding contribution to the organization.
We want to recognize our stores and our team members that go above and beyond for our customers. Each week, we select one “Swan Story” submitted by a loyal fred’s customer, and feature it on our website and our Facebook page. It’s a small way we can say “Thank you” to our fred’s family for all the hard work!
United Way of the Mid-South has served the people of the community by improving the common good since 1923, generating and uniting community resources to impact people's lives by addressing critical health and human service needs.
